Charlie Arthur's Port Townsend Real Estate Blog

Green is the new Green, and people are into it!

Port Townsend, WA is a unique and eclectic waterfront town of just under 9000 folks. A hybrid of Arts and Milltown. You really need to see it to believe it. What is happening here is a GREEN revolution in the real estate arena. People are going nuts over modular, manufactured and pre-built BUILTGREEN housing options. One of these options that I have the privilege to represent is a company out of Salem, OR called ideabox. This is a one of their models called the Confluence Modern. It is now sitting on 1650 Cherry street in Port Townsend. This is a "loft" you can put anywhere. Soaring ceilings and walls of glass bring the outside in or the inside out! The double master design offers two bedrooms each w/baths featuring tile showers & vessel sinks. Modern exteriors of metal, shingle, and glass join interiors of bamboo, maple, and solid surface counters. Enjoy a kitchen perfect for the chef in you. It's a house that lives - simple, efficient, small on carbon footprint and big on lifestyle. Live big, use little. What this particular home choice is providing is a Builtgreen AND affordable option to the market place. I have not had so many calls and emails in my 12 years of selling real estate, UNTIL I became in this ideabox home. We are going to have a model open for previewing on the 26th of March from 9-12. I will be writing a blog afterwards to document the experience. Hopefully some video feedback to show the folks in activerain. Thank you so much for the honor of talking about this important topic.

Charlie, the other thing with modular that is an advantage is that they are actually being built in a controlled environment, a factory, rather than out in the open where the construction is subjected to the elements. Good luck with the open house!
